The story of CPCS
The story of CPCS
ON THE GROUND SINCE 2002
Founded in 2002, CPCS International was born from a realisation: every year, hundreds of children leave their villages, drawn to the “big city”, only to find themselves on their own, exposed to street life, exploitation and abandonment.
From its beginnings in Nepal, CPCS has been committed to supporting children in street situations — providing immediate medical, legal and psychosocial support — while working to prevent more children from ending up in the same situation.
A GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT
Over the years, the organisation has evolved:
-
A proven methodology
Drawing on nearly 25 years of commitment in the field, CPCS has developed a proven methodology built around three complementary areas: prevention, risk reduction, and social and family rehabilitation.
-
A global alliance
CPCS Alliance brings together NGOs and partner networks across several countries (Nepal, Rwanda, Burundi, Ukraine…), working together for children and young people in street situations or at risk.
-
Stronger international governance
CPCS has recently strengthened its governance with a new international Board of Directors and developed a long-term strategy, recognised and supported by numerous institutional and regional partners.
10,000 LIVES SUPPORTED EVERY DAY
Every day, on the ground in Nepal, Rwanda and Burundi, CPCS works alongside the most vulnerable children and families. Through its prevention, support and social rehabilitation programmes, the organisation provides concrete access to healthcare, education, psychological support and protection.
Nearly 10,000 children benefit from these programmes every day — a direct impact made possible by the commitment of local teams and the support of international partners.
A MODEL WITH IMPACT
CPCS’s journey — from its local roots in Nepal to an international alliance and a structured intervention model — reflects its commitment and continued growth in addressing the challenges of child protection in complex contexts.
