Nepal Emergency Appeal 2026 – Flood
Nepal Emergency Appeal 2026 - Flood
Nepal is facing a terrible human tragedy. Catastrophic floods and landslides have devastated entire communities. Hundreds of people have lost their lives, many remain missing, families have lost their homes and livelihoods, and thousands urgently need assistance.
CPCS is mobilising an emergency response in close coordination with the competent local authorities and other humanitarian and community actors. Our interventions will be based on needs identified on the ground and implemented in accordance with the priorities and guidance of the relevant authorities, avoiding duplication and complementing the assistance provided by other organisations.
As a first immediate response, we are preparing 300 emergency food and hygiene kits for affected families.
For approximately €29, one family can receive an emergency kit containing:
• 2 kg of red lentils
• 2 packets of cooking oil
• 5 kg of beaten rice
• 2 kg of sugar
• noodles
• tea
• biscuits
• dalmot
• salt, turmeric and cumin
• 3 bars of soap
• 2 bars of washing soap
€29 = 1 family emergency kit
€145 = 5 families
€290 = 10 families
€1,450 = 50 families
€2,900 = 100 families
€8,700 = 300 families
But food and hygiene assistance is only the beginning.
In coordination with the competent authorities and other actors, CPCS is also preparing to establish emergency shelters for particularly vulnerable people, including women alone with children and children who have been orphaned, separated from their families, are unaccompanied or otherwise left without adequate care and protection as a result of the disaster.
These emergency shelters will provide a safe and protective environment while the competent authorities and specialised actors work to identify families, assess individual situations and determine appropriate longer-term solutions in the best interests of each child.
Many other essential needs are also expected in the coming days and weeks: tents and temporary shelters, mattresses, blankets, medicines and medical supplies, clothing, hygiene materials and other basic necessities.
All CPCS emergency activities will be carried out in agreement with the competent authorities and in coordination with other organisations and actors involved in the emergency response. Our objective is to contribute where the needs are greatest, complement existing assistance and ensure particular attention to children, young people and the most vulnerable families.
CPCS has been working alongside children, young people, families and communities in Nepal for more than two decades. Today, once again, we want to stand with those who need support most.
